Support Organizations

Lifetime Healing Foundation

About:  Founded by birth mother and “Big Tough Girl”, Ashley Mitchell, this is a post placement care network dedicated to not only educating adoption professionals on the importance of lifetime resources and support for women that make the decision to place their child(ren) for adoption, but also to provide concrete tools to help them be successful when providing these services. Through an established and tested national training, we hope to bring a vital and missing piece of ethical adoption to the forefront and create a new standard in post placement care. This program is put on and supported by the LifeTime Healing Foundation.

On Your Feet Foundation

About: On Your Feet Foundation celebrates twenty years of service to the birthparent community and continues to be one of the only independent, non-profit organizations dedicated to providing birthparents with comprehensive case management services, grants for adoption-competent counseling, tuition, and emergency rent assistance, as well as running online communities, support groups, and birth mom-facilitated in-person and virtual retreats for birth moms in the US and beyond. The retreats are held at locations in and around the Chicago metro area and are easily accessible by car, bus or train. We are happy to assist you with arranging your transportation to and from the retreat.

MPower Alliance

About: We offer critical psychological counseling, educational grants, and therapeutic retreats where you can connect with a supportive community to work through trauma, isolation, and loss.

Tied at the Heart

About: Tied At The Heart is a dedicated 501c3 to providing birth parent support. We work to facilitate healing retreats throughout the United States. We believe that no birth parent should feel alone or unsupported in their post placement journey. Taking place in some of the most beautiful cities in the US, each of our retreats provides comfortable accommodations, great food, amazing workshops taught by peers, fun bonding activities, crafts, but most importantly, the opportunity to create life-long friendships with women who know exactly what you have experienced as an birth mother/first mother.

Concerned United Birthparents (CUB)

About: Concerned United Birthparents, Inc. provides support for all family members separated by adoption; resources to help prevent unnecessary family separations; education about the life-long impact on all who are affected by adoption; and advocates for fair and ethical adoption laws, policies, and practices.

Brave Love

About: Brave Love is a not-for-profit organization that exists to change the perception of adoption through communication that conveys the bravery of birth mothers. They believe birth mothers are heroes and adoption can be a beautiful thing. The website offers support through adoption education and numerous video testimonials.

Embrace Grace

About: Embrace Grace, Inc. is a non-profit organization formed for the purpose of providing emotional, practical and spiritual support for single, young women and their families who find themselves in an unintended pregnancy. The primary goal of Embrace Grace is to empower churches across the nation to be a safe and non-judging place for the girls to run to when they find out they are pregnant, instead of the last place they are welcomed because of shame and guilt. The support groups they offer are held in numerous states and can be found on their website.

Birth Moms Today

About: A safe place for birth moms to share their feelings, struggles, and answer posts from other birth moms without worrying about compromising your privacy. Here to encourage, empower, and support one another.

Caring for Birthmothers

About: Caring for Birthmothers is a Facebook support group for women who have placed a child for adoption.

Modern Birth Mom
